Bio

Jayson Ameer Rasheed brings more than 20 years of athletic communications experience to Wilberforce, including HBCU’s Lincoln University, Kentucky State University and Alabama State University.  

He has served as a sports administrator, oversaw external relations and helped grow the social media presence at all of his stops.  

Rasheed worked in professional athletics as the Director of Media Relations for the Ultimate Indoor Football League and the Director of Media and Community Relations for the Kentucky Monsters. He also spent three seasons with the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals as a press box assistant in the media relations department. 

Rasheed has also found time to volunteer at the NCAA Division I First Four, the 2010 NCAA Division I Midwest Regional, the NCAA Division I, II, & III Women's Final Fours in 2014, and the 2009 NCAA Division I Women's Final Four. 

He is a graduate of the NCAA Institute of Administrative Advancement and a member of the NCAA Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute.  

Rasheed has served on several national committees including CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America), BCSIDA (Black College Sports Information Directors of America) and the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women's Internship Grant Selection Committee. He currently serves on the Leadership Council for BCSIDA, the MOAA Symposium Committee, the D2SIDA Atlantic Region Women's Basketball poll committee and was elected as a D2SIDA Atlantic Region Representative. 

A 2000 graduate of Wilmington College with a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Administration and Communications, Rasheed is a member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.
