For Wilberforce, a balanced offensive attack saw four players in double figures. The standout performer was Cali Davis, who erupted for 25 points. Davis shot an efficient 9-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-8 from three-point range, and also added three free throws. However, his stellar performance wasn't enough to overcome Lourdes' shooting clinic.
Kyle Cardenas added 14 points, including three three-pointers, while Josiah Mobley contributed a solid 13 points with 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Big man, Germainn Marshall, chipped in with 11 points and 4 rebounds, while Jesse Olverson, in just his second game after sitting out last season due to injury, added 6 points and 8 rebounds.
On the other hand, Lourdes was led by Shaunn Monroe who contributed 34 of the teams 74 points. Lourdes' ability to hit timely threes, shooting 70.6% from beyond the arc, and their free-throw shooting (17-of-25) helped to close out the game comfortably.
Wilberforce struggled with ball control, turning the ball over 12 times in the contest, which Lourdes capitalized on, with the Gray Wolves committing just 9 turnovers. The Bulldogs did a decent job on the boards, but the explosive offensive performance from Lourdes ultimately proved too much to overcome.
The Bulldogs will look to regroup as they head into the third of a three-game home stretch, before traveling to face conference opponents Voorhees and Talladega later this week.
