Wilberforce Bulldogs claimed a hard-fought 89-85 victory over Shawnee State in a thrilling Veteran's Day matchup. Germainn Marshall had a standout performance, scoring a career-high 21 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the field and a solid 7-for-11 from the free-throw line. Jamir Hymes contributed significantly with 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Kyle Cardenas added 15 points off the bench, including three three-pointers. The team's balanced attack and resilience in crunch time helped secure the win.
The game was tightly contested throughout, but Wilberforce relied on efficient ball movement and a strong inside presence to stay competitive. The Bulldogs shot 50.8% from the field, overcoming struggles from beyond the arc (27.3% 3PT) with clutch plays in the second half. Despite foul trouble and missed free throws, Wilberforce showcased composure in the final minutes to hold off Shawnee State's relentless effort.
