Lady Bulldogs Struggle in Loss to Rust
The Lady Bulldogs struggled to maintain a consistent offensive rhythm throughout the game, ultimately falling 56-76 to the Lady Bearcats.
The Lady Bulldogs got off to a promising start in the first quarter, taking an early 17-16 lead. However, they couldn’t sustain the momentum as Rust quickly adjusted and took control of the game.
The Lady Bulldogs' offensive output dipped in the second quarter, where they managed only 9 points, and the scoring woes continued in the third as Rust extended their lead to 56-29 by the end of the period.
The team found some offensive rhythm in the fourth quarter and showed some resilience, as they managed to score 18 points in an effort to close the gap. However, it was too little, too late.
While Wilberforce’s defense struggled to contain Rust’s fast breaks and outside shooting, players like Daijah Anderson, Constance Chaplin, and Gaby Thomas made an impact. Going forward, the Lady Bulldogs will need to improve their shooting efficiency and consistency on both offense and defense so they can bounce back and remain competitive. The team will look to learn from this defeat as they prepare for a rematch against Voorhees next week.
